Everton still seem to be searching to find their strongest starting line-up.
Everton fans are urging David Unsworth not to keep playing Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney together.
Sigurdsson and Rooney were often used in tandem by Ronald Koeman to very limited impact, and they were again selected together in Everton’s last match against Watford.
At the time Rooney was taken off, Everton were 2-0 down in the contest.
But the arrival of Dominic Calvert-Lewin helped Unsworth’s side turn the game around.
Everton went on to win 3-2, and supporters of the Merseyside club have now urged Unsworth not to pick Sigurdsson and Rooney together again.
Unsworth, of course, may not have to choose whether to play Rooney and Sigurdsson again – as there is a possibility that he won’t be in charge when Everton next return to action.
Everton are still looking to make a permanent appointment to replace Ronald Koeman, with an announcement expected in the near future.
Everton are next in action after the international break, when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
