Donny van de Beek made his first start for Everton this Saturday, and the Dutch international left an incredible impression as Frank Lampard’s side cruised to a 3-0 win against Leeds United.
The result was the English manager’s first win in the Premier League since joining the Toffees’ last month, and the Goodison Park faifthful were witness to a performance from Van de Beek that has not been seen in some time.
The 24-year-old has largely been wasted since moving to Manchester United in 2020, with the former Ajax star playing a bit-part role under the Red Devils despite his impressive talents and potential.
And now, after his first start for Everton, there is growing hope amongst supporters that Lampard will get the best out of the midfielder, with Van de Beek running the show against Leeds.
As per Everton’s official Twitter account, the Dutchman was all over the place both creatively and defensively, with Van de Beek winning the most tackles, making the most passes and claiming the most aerial duels for the Blues against Leeds.
Indeed, neutral supporters all knew that Van de Beek would be a success after being treated more than poorly with United, and for Everton fans, they were amazed by the midfielder’s display against Leeds.
