Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is often mocked, but Toffees fans certainly love him at the moment.

The shot-stopper started for Everton against West Ham United, and played his part in a 1-0 win for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Yes, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the hero in front of goal by scoring in the first half, the only goal of a tight game.

Pickford really stood up strong though, turning in a panic-free display without even really being tested by the West Ham attack.

The 27-year-old has been benched at times this season in favour of loanee Robin Olsen, and some don’t even think he should start for England this summer at the European Championships.

Pickford has been solid of late though, and with another clean sheet in the bag following the 1-0 win over West Ham, fans have been praising him.

Some Toffees supporters feel Pickford has been ‘brilliant’ of late, even feeling that taking him out of the team for Olsen has done him good.

Others think he now looks ‘a lot calmer’, showing rapid improvement throughout 2021.
