Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke has been called up by England, and Everton fans are not happy.

Liverpool talent Dominic Solanke has been called up by England manager Gareth Southgate for this week’s friendly with Brazil.
He is one of three youngsters drafted into the squad along with goalkeeper Angus Gunn and midfielder Lewis Cook.
Solanke signed for Liverpool in the summer from Chelsea, and went on to lead England’s under-20 side to World Cup glory.

Solanke finished as top scorer in the tournament and won the prestigious Golden Ball award, but has been used sparingly by Liverpool.
His call-up came as a surprise, especially to fans of rivals Everton, who hit out at the decision on Twitter.
Everton fans were particularly angry that their own young talent Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been overlooked.

Calvert-Lewin also played a key part in England’s under-20 World Cup win and has followed this up by actually starring in the first team for his club.
| Team | Goals | Assists | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dominic Calvert-Lewin | Everton | 1 | 2 | 725 |
| Dominic Solanke | Liverpool | 0 | 0 | 85 |
Calvert-Lewin has played a staggering 725 minutes compared to Solanke’s 85, and Everton fans are right to feel aggrieved at Southgate’s selection.
As an overall policy, Southgate’s decision to offer chances to young players is encouraging for Calvert-Lewin, but he would have been a more logical choice for the Three Lions this time around.
Here is a look at the reaction from Everton supporters…
