Everton eye Inter Milan star deemed ‘impossible’ to sell due to form

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan attacker Joaquin Correa, a forward the Serie A side have previously believed to be hard to ship off this summer.

According to FC Inter News, the Toffees’ interest in the Argentine international is hotting up ahead of the transfer window, with West Ham and La Liga side Sevilla also keeping tabs on Correa, who the same publication recently claimed that Inter view the 28-year-old as ‘impossible’ to sell.

This is due to Correa’s form this season, with the former Lazio man scoring just three goals in all competitions and the Nerazzuri already wanting to offload the forward despite signing him on a permanent deal last summer. However, Everton could soon make an unlikely deal possible.

As per the report, Everton are keen to add to their attack this summer, and with Correa one of the few forwards in world football who specialises in the second-striker role, the Argentine could be a left-field solution to solve Sean Dyche’s problems in the final third.

Indeed, signing an attacker will be key for Everton if they’re to survive the drop for another season, and whilst Inter’s stance on Correa is extreme, to say the least, the Argentine could be a great addition to both the Toffees’ squad and for Dyche’s long-term plan.

As we know, the former Burnley man is a coach who prefers a two-man attack, and alongside the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Correa could thrive at Everton should the Merseyside club manage to strike a deal with Inter to sign the 28-year-old.

Everton signing Correa could work in the short-term

Everton’s upcoming summer window will be the most important the club undergo in some years, with Dyche in need of funds to transform the squad in order to bring in the faces that could transform the Toffees’ fortunes around. And Correa could be such a player.

Whilst the striker’s form and reputation has been something of a joke with Inter, Correa could reinvent himself at Goodison Park with Everton, especially if Dyche is willing to give the forward the time to find his feet again on Merseyside.
