Everton’s Ramiro Funes Mori has generally been used as a back-up option since Ronald Koeman took charge.
Ramiro Funes Mori has told the Liverpool Echo that he felt tired after featuring for Everton against Manchester United last weekend.
Funes Mori was selected to start at centre-back alongside Ashley Williams for Ronald Koeman’s side in what was a rare appearance for the Argentine this season.
Funes Mori has been utilised as back-up to Williams and Phil Jagielka over the campaign so far, but he has now started in Everton’s last two matches.

And the 25-year-old is pleased to be back in the team, although he admits that he is not up to optimum match sharpness yet.
“It was hard to get the rhythm of the game – it was tough and Manchester United are a good team that play with good tempo,” he said.

“I felt a little bit tired at the end but I just need to get more games and more playing time.”
Everton drew 1-1 with United in their last match, with a late goal from Leighton Baines rescuing a point for Koeman’s side.
The Toffees had gone behind when Zlatan Ibrahimovic capitalised on a goalkeeping error, but Koeman’s side fought back well to claim a draw.
Everton are now in eighth place in the Premier League table, after a dip in form.
The Merseyside club are next in action on Saturday when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road, and Funes Mori looks likely to be handed a start again in that fixture.
