Everton defender Matthew Pennington has been sent out on loan to Ipswich Town this season.
Matthew Pennington has admitted on TWTD that he doesn’t know what his future at Everton has in store.
Pennington has been sent out on loan over the last two seasons by Everton, firstly to Leeds United and Ipswich Town.
The centre-back now has a great deal of experience in the Championship, but his task of breaking into the starting line-up at Goodison Park looks tough.
And Pennington admits that a move away from Everton could now be a possibility.
“It would be nice to settle down somewhere,” he said.
“I’m 24 now and I’ve been out on loan five times, so I guess it’s getting to the time now where I need to find a club, settle down and kick on. It could be here but I don’t know.
“It’s just up to me to keep performing and playing games then we’ll see what happens. I don’t know what’s happening with Everton. I’ve had a phone call or two from them but nothing more than that.”
Everton have strengthened considerably at centre-back since Silva took charge.
The Portuguese boss has brought in Kurt Zouma and Yerry Mina taking charge, and Michael Keane has also impressed.
Everton also have Phil Jagielka and Mason Holgate who appear to be ahead of Pennington in the pecking order.
Pennington’s next game for Ipswich comes at the weekend, when Paul Lambert’s side take on Stoke City.
