Everton now want Dango Ouattara but have already had an offer for the forward rejected by Ligue 1 side Lorient.

That’s according to a report from Foot Mercato over in France, who claim that Everton have made their move for Ouattara.

It’s stated that Everton have put €20million (£17million) on the table for Ouattara in the hope of getting a deal done.

However, Everton’s bid has been rejected with Lorient standing firm on their talented young winger.

Talks are still ongoing between the two clubs though with Everton seemingly having some kind of hope of securing a deal.

Lorient are also trying to fend off other clubs pursuing striker Terem Moffi though, with the Ligue 1 side surely reluctant to lose both in the same window.

Who is Everton target Dango Ouattara?

Ouattara was in the ranks of the brilliantly-named SC Majestic over in his native Burkina Faso before heading to Lorient in 2020.

Ouattara, 20, has been in blistering form this season, racking up five goals and five assists in 16 Ligue 1 outings.

The winger has exploded as a huge talent this season after just one goal and two assists in 25 games last term.

Primarily a right-sided winger who loves to take on defenders and cut inside onto his left foot, Ouattara appears to have a huge future.

We Sport in France note that Ouattara is ‘very fast’ and has been backed to reach ‘the highest level’ by Lorient boss Regis Le Bris.

If Ouattara does end up making the move to England, he would become just the second Burkinabe player to play in the Premier League.

The first was another right-sided, left-footed winger in Bertrand Traore, formerly of Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Ouattara may hope for a little more success in England than Traore, with Everton no doubt feeling that they have a chance to land a star of the future.
