Everton could have a duo which would bully Premier League defences, if they are able to sign Diego Costa this summer.

The Daily Mail claims that Everton want to sign Costa from Atletico Madrid, and his arrival should be welcomed at Goodison Park.

Of course, Costa’s discipline issues cannot be overlooked, but he has already proven that he can be a major threat to Premier League defences.

When with Chelsea, Costa was uncontrollable when at his best, as his physical power left defenders battered and bruised at the end of 90 minutes.

And the potential to see Costa working in tandem with Richarlison should capture the imagination of Toffees fans.

Richarlison is well known for his skill, pace and dribbling ability, but his power is often overlooked.

The Brazilian is actually a very strong winger, who towers over many of his markers.

If his physical prowess was utilised with Costa also in the team, then Everton would have a new string to their bow.

Everton’s attack is already one of the most creative in the Premier League, but Costa and Richarlison would allow Marco Silva’s side to bully opposition sides in the more physical battles too.

And although Everton still have plenty of work to do to complete a deal for Costa, the links should be exciting at this early stage.
