Everton want Conor Gallagher and boss Frank Lampard believes he can tempt Chelsea into sending the midfielder to Goodison Park.

Everton have secured their Premier League status for next season by beating Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

The Toffees looked dead and buried at half-time as Palace raced into a 2-0 first-half lead.

Michael Keane, Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin turned the game on its head though, giving Everton the three points they needed to stay up.

Lampard and Everton just can’t afford to be in this position next season and summer additions are vital in order to progress.

Everton want Conor Gallagher

Talksport now claim that Everton are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Gallagher this summer.

It’s suggested that Lampard believes he can use his Chelsea connections to make sure Everton win the race this summer.

Thursday’s opponents want to keep hold of Gallagher for another year but their confidence is waning.

Gallagher will be given a chance to impress at Chelsea in pre-season but a move away this summer isn’t ruled out.

That could be a loan or a permanent move with Everton surely only in a position to sanction a loan deal.

Everton’s financial situation is far from ideal and that may restrict Lampard when it comes to summer signings.

Lampard will still have great connections at Chelsea and he may be able to convince the Blues to send Gallagher up to Goodison Park.

TEAMtalk reported in February that Lampard was desperate top bring Gallagher to Everton and had even spoken to Chelsea about a deal.

Gallagher, 22, has notched eight goals and three assists in 33 appearances on loan at Palace this season.

That kind of goal threat could be vital for Everton and Lampard could be the man to lure him.

Gallagher admitted to BT Sport earlier this year that his idol growing up was Lampard during his Chelsea days.

Having the chance to play under Lampard would surely appeal then, potentially giving Everton hope of a deal for Gallagher.
