New Everton manager Marco Silva has shaken up his backroom staff.
Everton’s first team assistant coach Fran Alonso has posted a heartfelt Tweet to Toffees fans after new manager Marco Silva decided to end his stay at Goodison Park.
Alonso first took the role on Merseyside following the appointment of Ronald Koeman in the summer of 2016, after working with the Dutch manager at Southampton as the club’s first team technical coach.
The Spaniard, who remains Southampton Women’s technical director, remained in his role despite Koeman’s sacking at the start of the 2017-18 campaign – lasting under both David Unsworth and Sam Allardyce.

But his two-year stay at Goodison has come to an end as he confirmed his departure from the club on Twitter, posting a “thank you” to the club and the fans – describing his time at Goodison as a “beautiful story”.
Alonso is not the only Spaniard to leave Goodison Park this summer, with goalkeeper Joel Robles also leaving after his contract expired. Sandro Ramirez’s future also remains a doubt, after being loaned to Sevilla.
Everton are yet to make a signing this summer, but have offloaded first-team stars Ramiro Funes Mori and Wayne Rooney, while David Henen, Conor Grant and Robles have left permanently. Luke Garbutt has joined Oxford United on loan.
