Everton and Liverpool are both believed to be keen on Jack Wilshere.

Arsenal may not be overly keen on keeping on midfielder Jack Wilshere, but he looks set to spark a major battle for his signature during this summer’s transfer window.
Wilshere, 26, has been on the books with Arsenal since signing from Luton Town in 2001, making his way up through the ranks with the Gunners whilst being touted for stardom in his teenage years.
However, injuries and competition for places have resulted in Wilshere being in and out of Arsene Wenger’s side, and he now looks set to head out of the Emirates Stadium when his contract expires this summer.

The Mirror now report that Everton have made an offer to Wilshere, whilst rivals Liverpool are now thought to be joining the race for his signature as teams line up to sign the England midfielder on a free transfer.
Whilst Wilshere is available for nothing, it would be a major victory for Everton if they managed to beat their city rivals to his signature, and a sign that they really can compete thanks to Farhad Moshiri’s investment.
Liverpool can offer things that would make any player want to play for them; Champions League football, a superb manager, an exciting brand of football, first-team minutes and the chance to play for one of the world’s biggest clubs, but Everton are now in a position financially where they can legitimately challenge for Wilshere’s signature.

Whilst Wilshere could replace Emre Can, he would still be in a fiercely-contested battle for playing time in the Liverpool midfield, whereas he could be handed a starring role under Sam Allardyce – or whoever may be Everton boss next season.
Liverpool may well be favourites to land Wilshere, but Everton can offer big wages and a signing-on fee, a starting role when Wilshere needs to be playing, and the chance to play alongside Wayne Rooney, a hero of Wilshere’s – and there are enough factors to suggest that Everton stand a real chance of scoring a major victory over the Reds this summer.
