Everton are known to be keen on the Icelandic star.
Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson in action
Everton take on Swansea City in the Premier League this evening, in a game with massive implications for the latter club.
The Swans are battling relegation and despite their improvements under the guise of new manager Paul Clement they are still looking like one of the more likely teams to drop out of the top-flight this season.
Everton themselves may have a vested interest in giving them a push later today.
The Toffees are said to be very interested in the signing of Swansea’s star player, Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Icelandic midfielder has been in fantastic form for the struggling Welsh side all season. His free-kick against Manchester United last weekend took him to 11 goals for the season and he also has 12 assists.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman looks dejected
Everton boss Ronald Koeman is said to be a big fan of the player. Last month The Sun reported how Everton were likely to make a £25 million move for the midfielder, who Koeman also wanted last summer and considered whilst manager at former club Southampton.
Everton can give Swansea a big shove toward relegation this weekend and in doing so may give themselves a better chance of snapping up the Icelandic star in the process.
