Everton want Caio Henrique with the Toffees eyeing up a move for the Monaco left back after Nottingham Forest backed away.
The Toffees had two settled full backs for years in Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines as both marauded up the flanks to great effect.
Yet with Baines retired and Coleman now 34, Everton are facing the tricky situation of replacing both.
Lucas Digne was meant to be the long-term Baines replacement but fell out of Rafael Benitez’s plans before a move to Aston Villa.
Vitaliy Mykolenko is faring well but Ruben Vinagre may not have a long-term future, meaning another left back could be wanted.

Everton want Caio Henrique
That’s lines up with what iG Esporte in Brazil are reporting anyway, as they state that Everton want Monaco defender Caio Henrique.
It’s stated that Everton as well as Brighton and Hove Albion have explored a move for the Brazilian of late.
The report adds that Nottingham Forest wanted Caio over the summer but ended up choosing to sign Renan Lodi instead.
Caio, 25, emerged with hometown team Santos over in his native Brazil before Atletico Madrid pounced for him in 2016.
After loans back in Brazil with Parana, Fluminense and Gremio, Caio joined Monaco in 2020.
Five assists and a goal in 10 Ligue 1 games this season just goes to show Caio’s attacking threat up the left flank.
This isn’t a fluke either as Caio racked up 13 assists in all competitions last season.
Brazil caps have eluded Caio but he has been hailed as a ‘set-piece specialist’ over in Monaco.
One interesting note here is that Caio’s agent is former Barcelona star Deco, who played alongside Everton boss Frank Lampard at Chelsea.
That could be a real boost for Everton in this pursuit, even if Caio did sign a new Monaco contract until 2027 back in August.
