Liverpool are set to take on Sam Allardyce’s Everton in the FA Cup this evening.

Sam Allardyce is seen arriving at the stadium prior to the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison Park on November 29, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has admitted to his side’s official website that the Toffees will need to silence the home crowd if they are to beat Liverpool in the FA Cup this evening.

Everton are due to make the short trip to Anfield tonight, and Allardyce does not want the crowd involved.

The Toffees boss admits Anfield can be a tough place to visit when the Liverpool crowd get behind their team.

And he has suggested that the task for his Everton side will be to frustrate the home supporters.

Sam Allardyce looks on from the stand during the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison Park on November 29, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

“First and foremost, we cannot allow them to get their noses in front, or for their attacking play to lift the whole of the stadium, because the players excite the fans and the atmosphere gets electric,” he said. “You have to cope with that and frustrate them.

“Then, it is what you do when you get the chance to create and score a goal, which is part of our plan: to see the weaknesses in Liverpool’s defence.”

Allardyce has already managed one Merseyside derby during his time in charge at Everton, and his side picked up a 1-1 draw on that occasion.

The Toffees were on the back foot for much of that contest, but scored a penalty through Wayne Rooney to steal a point.

Everton are expected to name a strong line-up this evening, as they are taking the FA Cup seriously.

The Toffees could line-up with new signing Cenk Tosun in their team, and Allardyce will hope the Turkish international can improve his side’s attacking play.
