Everton boss Ronald Koeman recalling Henry Onyekuru would be a desperate move

Everton have loaned out Henry Onyekuru to Anderlecht for the campaign.

According to 90 Minutes Goal, Everton are considering making a move to bring Henry Onyekuru to Goodison Park ahead of schedule.

Everton signed Onyekuru from Anderlecht during the summer transfer window, but they were unable to secure a work permit for the youngster.

As a result, the Toffees were happy to loan the attacker back to Anderlecht in the hope that he would qualify for a work permit sooner rather than later.

However, Everton’s struggles going forward have led to them having to seriously consider every option available to them.

And Koeman’s side are now reportedly trying to push for Onyekuru to be given a work permit, so they can recall him in January.

The move rather sums up Everton’s desperation to improve their attacking play, with the Toffees struggling to impress so far this season.

Onyekuru may be a talent, but Koeman would not have been expecting to have to recall a 20-year-old with no Premier League experience.

Everton spent vast sums of money last summer, and if things had gone according to plan, Onyekuru’s unavailability would surely not have been as big an issue as it has turned out to be.
