Everton boss Ronald Koeman is currently the bookies’ favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked.
Ronald Koeman has stated at his most recent press conference, which was broadcast on Everton’s official Periscope channel, that he was given no message from Farhad Moshiri, but he is confident he has the full support of the board.
Everton’s under pressure boss met with Moshiri and Bill Kenwright in the week to discuss matters around Goodison Park.
Everton have had a disappointing campaign so far, with Koeman’s side currently sat in 16th place in the Premier League table.
Koeman is now the bookies’ favourites to be the next top flight manager to lose his job.
But the Dutch manager insists that he has received the full backing of Everton’s board.
“There was no message from the board but the feeling is they are behind the team, behind the manager and everyone knows that in football that’s a nice thing but it’s all about results,” Koeman said.
Everton’s next match comes against French side Lyon in the Europa League, and they will be under pressure to get three points.
Everton have failed to win either of their Europa League matches to date, and they are now fighting to make it through to the knockout stages.
The Toffees’ next Premier League contest comes on Sunday, when Koeman’s side are set to face Arsenal at Goodison Park.
