Everton boss Marco Silva revealed to the Daily Mail that he let Theo Walcott know at full-time yesterday that his performance was much better.

Everton battered Burnley 5-1 at Turf Moor, with Walcott showing his qualities going forward.

The rapid striker was a constant thorn in Burnley’s side, as he helped Everton to a big win.

And Silva suggested after the match that he was impressed enough with Walcott to have a word with him on the pitch.

“I told him this was the Theo Walcott I want,’ he said, after being spotted whispering in the forward’s ear at full-time.

Walcott didn’t actually score for Everton, but he was very productive in attacking areas.

The former Arsenal man has been offered plenty of chances at Goodison Park this season, but he has not always impressed.

Silva is clearly a big fan of Walcott, but his return of three goals in 19 Premier League appearances is unlikely to be considered good enough.

Everton’s win over Burnley has lifted them back up to eighth place in the top flight table.
