Everton manager Marco Silva helped his side pick up a point in London yesterday.

Marco Silva of Everton arrives for the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton Fc at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 12, 2019 in London, England.

Marco Silva has told Football.London that he was far from happy with his Everton side at half-time yesterday.

Everton managed to pick up a credible 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

However, the Toffees’ performance in the first half was well below par.

And Silva has suggested that he had to have some strong words with his Everton players at the break to inspire them to perform better.

“Even if Tottenham also had two or three dangerous moments for us. Second half was different,” he said.

“We told our players they should do everything different than from the beginning of the game.

“It was completely different in the second half – we scored twice. They equalised from a set-piece but they did well in the second half. We played more in our way. It is a point but in my opinion it could be better.”

Everton had fallen behind against Tottenham when Eric Dier scored early on for the hosts, but they turned it around after the break.

Goals from Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun had put Everton in front.

However, Spurs hit back quickly through Christian Eriksen to ensure that the points were shared.

Tottenham ended up finishing the season in fourth place, while Everton claimed eighth spot.
