Everton boss Marco Silva spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference, ahead of his side’s clash with Tottenham on Sunday, and suggested that it is possible that Mauricio Pochettino’s team could be tired following their recent exertions, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

The Portuguese did go on to say that Spurs have incredible strength in depth, however, highlighting the fact that they were able to rest Harry Kane on Wednesday night, using the England international as a second half substitute, as evidence of this.

Poch’s side currently sit in third position in the Premier League table, just six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, and they have been playing some excellent football of late.

Everton will have their work cut-out on Sunday, if they are to have any chance of beating Tottenham.

Silva highlighted Spurs’ strength in depth as one of their strong points, when speaking to reporters, although he did suggest that they could be tired, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:

Everton manager Marco Silva during the Pre-Season Friendly at Gigg Lane on July 18, 2018 in Bury, England.

“It’s possible but they have enough quality to rest some players when they play a tough game against Arsenal [in midweek.] To rest a top striker like Harry Kane shows the strength they have. They come here in very good condition. I believe in our squad to get a good result and win the match.”

Tottenham will be desperate to beat the Toffees, and keep the pressure up on Liverpool and City above them in the table, but Silva’s side will be no pushover, especially at Goodison Park.

Sunday’s clash has all the makings of a classic, an whichever team has the most energy and dynamism in their play will surely end up victorious.
