Everton forward Cenk Tosun impressed in pre-season.
Everton boss Marco Silva has hailed striker Cenk Tosun after being impressed with him in pre-season.
The Turkish striker signed for Everton for £27 million in January and after a slow start he began to really kick on in the final two months of the campaign.
He has continued that form in pre-season, scoring against Valencia at the weekend at Goodison Park.
Speaking to evertontv, Silva said he is impressed with what he has seen from ‘fantastic’ Tosun.
Silva said: “In the box he is a fantastic football player.
“The capacity he has to score with his right and left foot [is important]. He improved on the other things in his game and did well. He understood better what I want and is improving his game.
“For a striker, when he scores everything is different and it helps his confidence grow.”
Tosun will have support from Everton’s big money new signing this season Richarlison, and their imminent reported addition of Bernard.
He scored five times for Everton last season in 14 appearances following his move from Besiktas.
