Are Everton planning to bolster their midfield options this summer? Potentially, going by what Marco Silva has said.

Everton boss Marco Silva has hinted to The Echo that he’ll be signing midfielders this summer – and quite a few of them by the sound of things.
Question marks hang over quite a few Everton midfielder’s futures at Goodison Park.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham-linked Andre Gomes will be staying on Merseyside, while the same could be said Idrissa Gueye.
Meanwhile, the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, James McCarthy and Mo Besic could also be exiting the club during the summer.
Silva’s midfield options could be ravaged during the off-season, but one player definitely staying is Tom Davies, who was rewarded with a new contract earlier this year.
But the Portuguese manager has called on the Finch Farm product to improve, adding that the competition will be a lot stronger next term than it was last season.
He told The Echo: “He is a fantastic professional, he has to keep improving, keep fighting because this season was tough but next season will be tougher because we have to put big competition inside.”
It’s a pretty clear indication that Silva anticipates the signing of midfield players, and what a boost it’ll be if Gomes is among them.
The Barcelona-owned star was a revelation during his season-long loan on Merseyside, but recent reports indicate that the North Londoners are keen on nicking him [The Sun] in a £35 million deal.
