Everton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has made just two appearances for the Toffees this term.
Stekelenburg has not made a Premier League appearance for Everton this term, with Jordan Pickford a mainstay in Silva’s starting line-up.
However, Silva has been very impressed by the veteran’s professionalism in training.
“The first thing I have to tell you, because it is the truth, is that he has been fantastic since the first day,” he said.
“Big credit to him for that. And he will be fantastic until the end because we are talking about a very, very good professional.
“His behaviour everyday in training is fantastic, even if he knows that we will be playing Jordan. He is training hard everyday and always ready to help.”
Stekelenburg could leave Everton in the summer, as Silva has suggested he may promote Joao Virginia from the youth team.
Stekelenburg has made just two appearances for the Toffees in cup competition this term, and he has just one year left on his contract at Goodison Park.
If Stekelenburg does leave Everton it will end a three year stay with the club.
Everton’s final game of the season comes on Sunday, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
