Ronald Koeman would be wise to try and hijack the potential move that Crystal Palace are reported to be making for Fenerbahce’s for Robin van Persie.
Frank de Boer has set out to make Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie his first Crystal Palace signing, according to the Daily Mirror. However, Ronald Koeman should consider enticing the Dutchman to join him at Goodison Park instead.
Everton are still believed to be monitoring strikers, especially as Romelo Lukaku is still being linked to Manchester United and Chelsea, says the Sun. They have a real shot at making the top six next season and would find the added goal boost that Van Persie could bring a great advantage in their attempts to pull further away from the mid-placed league clubs.
Van Persie, 33, would be a ready-made replacement for Lukaku and has a great record in the Premier League for both Arsenal and Manchester United.

Scuppering Frank de Boer’s attempts to sign the prolific goal scorer would not make for an easy meeting for the two Dutch legends when Everton and Crystal Palace meet on 18th November 2017. However, such relations are likely to come secondary when to trying to sign such a successful goalscorer.
Van Persie won the Premier League’s Golden boot for top goalscorer two seasons in a row, between 2011-13. His talent to hit the back of the net may have slightly diminished from his best days, but during his two seasons at the Turkish club he still netted 25 times in 54 appearances. He also has 50 goals for Holland in 101 appearances. That should be something that attracts Koeman to Van Persie who could still have a very strong season in the Premier League, if he moved to a top half club.

Robin van Persie isn’t as sought after now by clubs in the Champions League, but Everton would give him an opportunity to make a real impact in England next season. It could be a great match up for both Dutch manager and striker.
Meanwhile, Van Persie recently tweeted that he has plenty of fight left in him for the season ahead.
