Everton want Ben Brereton Diaz and are weighing up a move for the Blackburn Rovers star as they seek to bring in new attacking firepower.

The Toffees have been busy of late, making a string of signings to bolster Frank Lampard’s squad.

Another midfielder appears to be on the way in with Idrissa Gueye on the verge of a return to Goodison Park from Paris Saint-Germain.

Yet the focus is surely being placed on attacking talent too with Richarlison sold to Tottenham Hotspur and Dominic Calvert-Lewin out injured.

Everton want Ben Brereton Diaz

A number of names are being mentioned for that role, with Armando Broja, Neal Maupay and Viktor Gyokeres all linked of late.

The latest name is Ben Brereton Diaz, with the Daily Mail reporting that Everton are considering making an offer for the Blackburn Rovers striker.

Nice have offered £10million for Brereton Diaz but Blackburn have stood firm and rejected that offer.

Everton are now looking to swoop in and make an offer of their own, no doubt hoping that Blackburn will choose to cash in.

Brereton Diaz is out of contract next summer and may simply leave Ewood Park for nothing in 2023.

That means cash may well appeal to Rovers right now, even though Jon Dahl Tomasson is looking to launch a promotion push this season.

Brereton Diaz has made a great start to the season, bagging two goals and one assist in three games

The Chilean international was outstanding last season, smashing 22 goals in 37 games whilst Tony Mowbray called him ‘wonderful’.

Brereton Diaz certainly deserves a move out of the Championship at this point and Everton now appear to be very keen.

West Ham United have shown an interest in signing Brereton Diaz and even scouted him in July, but they have instead signed Maxwel Cornet and Gianluca Scamacca.

Brereton Diaz’s ability to play out wide and up front should appeal to Frank Lampard, and Everton being in relatively close proximity to Blackburn may give them a major selling point.
