According to talkSPORT, Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has passed a medical with Everton ahead of completing a move to Goodison Park.
It’s claimed that new Everton boss Rafael Benitez immediately wanted to sign a new goalkeeper and felt Begovic was the perfect man for the job.
Everton have moved ahead with a deal, handing Begovic a two-year contract and putting him through a medical this weekend, which he has passed.
The 34-year-old is viewed as the perfect player to come in and compete with Jordan Pickford – roles held by the likes of Maarten Stekelenburg, Robin Olsen and Jonas Lossl in recent times.
Begovic is being allowed to join Everton for absolutely nothing with Bournemouth simply moving him on inside the final year of his contract.
Begovic was a fine Premier League goalkeeper with Stoke City and won the title with Chelsea, but he’s had a strange couple of years.

Did you know he spent the first half of the 2019-20 season on loan at Qarabag? Did you know he then moved to AC Milan after that trip to Azerbaijan?
After a bizarre couple of loan moves, Begovic was back as Bournemouth’s first-choice goalkeeper last season, making 51 appearances in all competitions – and now has his move back to the Premier League after the Cherries missed out on promotion.
