Darren Bent has responded to an Everton fan on Twitter about Aston Villa signing Philippe Coutinho.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has reminded the Everton fan that he was right about James Rodriguez, who struggled at the Toffees.

Bent, a former Villa striker, predicted that James would struggle at Everton, and he was proven to be right.

The talkSPORT pundit has reminded that to the Everton fan, while also saying that former Liverpool attacking midfielder Coutinho would be a success at Villa.

Villa have signed former Liverpool star Coutinho on loan from Barcelona in the January transfer window.

Philippe Coutinho could be a success at Aston Villa

James did start strongly at Everton, but the Colombia international attacking midfielder faded away and also had fitness issues.

In the end, James scored six goals in 23 Premier League appearances for Everton.

The 30-year-old created 11 big chances in those games.

In our view, Coutinho has a better chance of being a success at Villa.

The Brazil international is still only 29, and having been a success at Liverpool, he will not take time to adapt to the Premier League and will hit the ground running.

Moreover, let us not forget that Villa manager Gerrard played with Coutinho when they were at Liverpool.

So, in our view, Gerrard will know what Coutinho can and cannot do.
