Everton want Artem Dovbyk with the Toffees now looking for another attacker after a rather chaotic week at Goodison Park.

That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Everton are now looking to bring Dovbyk to Merseyside.

The Dnipro-1 striker could be a budget target for Everton before next week’s transfer deadline.

This has been a bonkers week at Everton, starting with the sacking of Frank Lampard on Monday.

A deal for Arnaut Danjuma was pretty much done before Tottenham were able to swoop in and hijack the deal.

As if that wasn’t enough, homegrown winger Anthony Gordon is now trying to engineer a move away from Everton so he can join Newcastle United.

Everton need to find attacking quality from somewhere and Dovbyk may now be a prime target.

Who is Everton target Artem Dovbyk?

Dovbyk started out with Cherkaskyi Dnipro, scoring seven times in 21 games to earn himself a big move to Dnipro.

Dnipro had reached the Europa League final just weeks before Dovbyk’s move, so it seemed like a pretty exciting switch.

Financial catastrophe hit Dnipro though and whilst Dovbyk scored 18 times in 37 games, the club folded amid UEFA bans and relegation in Ukraine.

Dovbyk headed to Denmark in 2017 but scored just once in 22 games for Midtjylland.

A loan spell at SonderjyskE didn’t help, with Dovbyk finding the net just twice in 21 outings.

With his career in danger of fading away, Dovbyk returned to Ukraine in 2020 with SC-Dnipro – not officially a phoenix team from the former side, but they have still taken over the infrastructure.

Dovbyk has got right back on track in Ukraine, racking up 40 goals in 67 games for the club whilst also notching 11 assists.

The 25-year-old has scored 16 times in all competitions this season and is bound to attract interest.

Ukrainian coach Oleg Fedorchuk has hailed Dovbyk as having ‘a lot of speed, outstanding physical strength and a good left foot’ but thinks he would be better in a counter-attacking team.

Whether Dovbyk can make the step up to the Premier League is another matter though and Everton would be taking something of a gamble by bringing him in.
