Everton want Arnaut Danjuma and have now opened talks with Villarreal in an effort to sign the winger during this month’s transfer window.

That’s according to Cadena Ser over in Spain, who claim that Everton have opened negotiations with the La Liga side in an attempt to get a deal done.

It’s stated that Everton are trying to take Danjuma on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Villarreal at least seem open to the deal but are adamant that they need a replacement in attack before agreeing to a deal.

Everton need attacking additions this month and they are pressing to secure an enormous coup by signing Danjuma.

Frank Lampard will be sat anxiously awaiting news on this deal with Danjuma representing an immediate attacking boost if Everton can get him on board.

Everton target Arnaut Danjuma was once wanted by Liverpool

Danjuma, formerly of Bournemouth, has excelled since heading to Spain in 2021 and has been hailed as ‘explosive’ by Owen Hargreaves.

The Dutch wide man has also played as a striker for Villarreal and that versatility may be attractive to Lampard and co.

Danjuma smashed 10 goals and three assists in 23 La Liga games last season, as well as six goals and one assist in 11 Champions League outings.

That’s a hugely impressive record but this season has been a little trickier, scoring twice and starting just six La Liga games.

The time may be right for Danjuma have another crack at Premier League action – and he could end up on the blue side of Merseyside after being courted by the Reds.

Danjuma claimed in 2022 that Liverpool were watching him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Goal reported back in April that Liverpool viewed Danjuma as the ideal replacement for Sadio Mane, but ended up signing Darwin Nunez instead.

If Everton get their way, Danjuma will end up facing Liverpool and hopefully becoming a Merseyside derby hero in the process.
