Daryl Dike wasn’t a household name before the January transfer window, but he’s certainly becoming one now.

Dike, 20, joined Barnsley on loan from Orlando City in the January window, representing something of a cup for the Tykes.

Dike had already hit eight goals in 17 MLS games, and has now been taking the Championship by storm having already scored five goals in 11 outings.

The American looks set for a huge future, and a move to a club much, much bigger than Barnsley could materialise this summer.

Eurosport claim that Everton want to sign Dike, whilst TEAMtalk claim that the Toffees have shown the most interest in him, ahead of the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Leeds, Wolves, West Ham United and Newcastle United.

Barnsley have a £17million purchase clause on Dike, and Premier League teams are now queuing up to sign him for what would likely be a similar price.

What should excite Everton fans is that Barnsley teammate Jordan Williams recently told the Yorkshire Post that he thinks Dike is similar to ex-Toffees hitman Romelu Lukaku.

Williams thinks the power Dike can shoot with is ‘amazing’, believing it’s just like Lukaku – and if Everton can land the next Lukaku, fans would surely be delighted.

“I think he’s similar to Lukaku, to be fair. Lukaku has got a rocket of a foot and Dike’s not far behind, I don’t think,” said Williams. “He hasn’t scored as many goals yet, but he can hit a ball as hard as him, I would say. He’s only 20 years of age. It’s amazing,” he added.
