Everton are back in for Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga as Sean Dyche chases new signings.
Anthony Elanga is on the Everton radar once again with a Manchester United exit potentially on the cards.
That is according to a report from Foot Mercato, who claim that Everton want Elanga this summer.
It’s stated that Everton did want Elanga in the January transfer window but a deal wasn’t possible.
Everton now plan to be ‘more offensive’ with their pursuit of Elanga in the hope of finally signing him.
The Toffees desperately need pace in the final third and Elanga could provide a spark as Everton look to avoid another relegation battle.
Everton have wanted Anthony Elanga for a long time
Everton fans are probably sick of rumours linking Elanga with a move to Goodison Park now.
The Daily Mail reported back in August 2022 that Everton were looking to take Elanga on loan.
It was suggested that Antony’s arrival from Ajax could have made Elanga available but no deal was done.
Elanga struggled for first-team action though and the rumours returned in January.
The Daily Mail were back at it in January, stating that Everton were back in the hunt for Elanga.
Again though, no deal was done with Elanga seeing out the season as a bit-part United player.
Everton now sound like they’re ready to make a serious push for Elanga and finally bring this rumour to an end.
It may be time for Elanga to leave Manchester United
Elanga started just five Premier League games last season and came off the bench only 11 times.
That meant that the Swede finished the campaign with only 424 Premier League minutes under his belt.
This just isn’t good enough for Elanga; he needs to be playing regularly in order to develop and improve.
Elanga is now 21 and whilst giving up on his United dream won’t be easy, it may be necessary.
Once hailed as a ‘great talent’ by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Elanga may well be tempted to go to Everton and show what he can do on a regular basis.
