Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin can massively improve still this season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin proved in Everton’s 3-1 defeat to West Ham at the weekend that he is not a winger, as he was ineffective in the wide area and manager Marco Silva needs to address that issue.

The 21-year-old has fallen victim so far during his Toffees career by being swapped between a striker and winger, which has certainly not helped him build any momentum.

But it’s clear that his favoured position is at centre-forward and he should only be considered for that role by Silva moving forward.

The 6ft 1in ace can drift in and out of games when used out wide, but he scored twice this season when played through the centre in an EFL Cup win over Rotherham United.

Calvert-Lewin is a highly-rated talent at Goodison Park that looks capable of putting pressure on Oumar Niasse and Cenk Tosun for the centre-forward position.

The England Under-21 international plays through the middle when representing his country and ideally need the same role for his club.

Calvert-Lewin’s main strengths are his ability in the air and hold up play, which would be perfect for the likes of Richarlison, Theo Walcott and Bernard to work off.

He’s also shown he can be clinical in front of goal and nailing him down to the striker position should help him improve his game.
