The Sun has reported of Arsenal’s interest in the Nigeria international, but it seems that Everton have won the race to secure the services of the youngster in the summer transfer window.

According to Nieuwsblad.be, Everton hope to reach an agreement regarding the transfer of Onyekuru from Eupen. The same report has claimed that the Merseyside outfit would then immediately loan him out to Belgian club Anderlecht.

It would certainly be an extremely smart move from Everton manager Ronald Koeman. Onyekuru is a talented and promising young player, but the forward could do with another season of regular playing time in Belgium.

Onyekuru could develop into a superb footballer in the coming years, and by signing him now, Everton are denying the likes of Arsenal and West Ham to get a very promising forward.
