Everton were last week named as shock suitors for Liverpool forward Danny Ings.

Ings has suffered two serious knee injuries since moving to Liverpool in 2015 and is playing with the under-23s as he tries to get back on track.

Teamtalk reported last week that Everton are showing a strong interest in the striker as they seek to solve their ongoing issues up front.

Dyche managed Danny Ings at Burnley, and helped the striker earn a move to Liverpool.

Ings scored the goals which got Burnley promoted to the Premier League, and playing under a manager who knows him well will be key to him recovering his best form.

It remains difficult to know whether Liverpool would sanction the sale of a player to their Merseyside rivals, but if Dyche takes over at Goodison, Everton’s desire to make a move happen is likely to strengthen.
