The Toffees academy graduate continues to impress for David Unsworth and his charges – could he be Goodison Park’s latest big homegrown star?

Everton have proudly posted a clip on their Twitter feed of the Toffees Under-23s’ late goal – including the superb build-up involving Anthony Gordon – to secure a 2-2 draw with Manchester City U23s in last night’s Premier League 2 clash.
David Unsworth’s charges began the game badly, falling two goals behind after Citizens captain Tommy Doyle scored from the penalty spot in the first half and Nabil Touaizi doubled the visitors’ lead not long after the interval.
However, Everton set about trying to battle their way back into the game and, thanks to a number of superb performances from the likes of Gordon, Antony Evans, Beni Baningime and Morgan Feeney, they succeeded in their mission and earned themselves a share of the spoils.
The Blues’ second goal came about thanks to some amazing footwork by Gordon, who slalomed past several opposition defenders before striking goalwards, and even though he hit the woodwork, Ellis Simms pounced on the rebound to head into the empty City net.
Understandably, the Everton channel showed off the goal and preceding skill:
The draw preserved Everton U23’s unbeaten start to the season as Unsworth and his charges seek more silverware following last season’s impressive double.
