Pennington played 24 times for Leeds United on loan from Everton.

Everton have announced that they have handed a new contract Matthew Pennington after the culmination of his loan spell at Leeds United.
Pennington’s exiting deal was due to expire at the end of next season, and the new agreement will reportedly run until 2021.
The centre-back played 24 times during his season-long spell at Leeds, which has received mixed reviews. Nevertheless, Everton appear to be happy with his displays.
It is understandable that Everton would have one eye on the future in Pennington’s position, with Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams coming to the end of their careers.

And the 23-year-old’s new contract should give him plenty of time in which to stake a claim for a regular first team place.
Pennington played nine times for Everton before heading to Leeds, whose intentions for the player were unclear.
The Warrington native has also spent time at Tranmere Rovers, Coventry City and Walsall.
