The father of reported Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers target Goncalo Guedes has hinted the Portugal international may be open to a move away from Valencia, speaking to Antena 1, via Sports Finding.
In truth, the fluctuations in Guedes’ form reflects that of his club as a whole.
A man once tipped to succeed Cristiano Ronaldo as the kingpin of the Portuguese national team exploded on to the scene as Marcelino Garcia Toral’s Valencia side flirted with the La Liga title in 2017/18.
But as Los Che drifted back into the shadows of mid-table, finishing 13th last season, Guedes must take his share of the blame, only performing anywhere near his capabilities in the final few weeks of the campaign.
Could Jorge Mendes bring another client to Wolves?
With debt-ridden Valencia now willing to sell their £36 million signing for as little as £13 million, Calciomercato reports Everton may be tempted to take a punt on a player who, at 24, still has plenty of time on his side.
Guedes has also been linked with Wolves, which is no surprise given his agent is you know who.

And, when asked about his son’s future at the Mestalla, Guedes Sr suggested offers from elsewhere would be considered.
“If it wasn’t for the club he’s in, the problems (Valencia) has, he would be fine,” the winger’s father said.
Everton also interested in Valencia star Guedes
“He only shines when he is at a team that allows him to shine.
“Will he go? I don’t know. There is no Champions League (at Valencia). There is no Europa League.”
Of course, Everton and Wolves both missed out on European qualification too.
But Guedes may feel a change of scenery would do him the world of good as his development stalls at one of the continent’s great underachievers.
