Everton played out a 2-2 draw with Watford on Monday night in a real ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ performance at Goodison Park.

Having only managed to draw 1-1 at home with Newcastle United in midweek, Everton needed a response at home again, and took the lead when Richarlison pounced to score against his former club.

However, a mad few minutes in the second half saw Seamus Coleman score an own goal before Abdoulaye Doucoure put Watford in front, with Everton struggling in the second half.

Gylfi Sigurdsson then had a penalty saved after a foul on Yerry Mina, and it looked like Everton were fading away before Lucas Digne scored a superb last-gasp free kick to rescue a point.

Everton were not at their best, and it again showed that Marco Silva still needs to add a couple more pieces to his side in order to make them real top six challengers in the Premier League.

One player that may be on his radar is Watford ace Doucoure, as The Mirror reported last week that Silva wants to reunite with the Frenchman at Goodison Park.

Watford fans weren’t impressed with his display though, suggesting that he was ‘awful’ and ‘disappointing’, adding that he has deteriorated so much and looks a shadow of the player he was last season.

That’s particularly interesting as Everton fans felt that Doucoure ran the midfield and showed he is better than Idrissa Gueye, urging director of football Marcel Brands to get him signed; it truly is a game of opinions.
