Sunderland manager David Moyes insists Lamine Kone will not leave this summer after rejecting a bid from the Toffees.
Lamine Kone scores for Sunderland against Everton
Sunderland have rejected a bid from Everton for Lamine Kone, with David Moyes insisting the wantaway defender will not leave the Stadium of Light.
Sky Sports reports that Moyes has dismissed the Toffees’ bid because of the lack of time to find a suitable replacement for the 27-year-old with the transfer window shutting on August 31st.
Reports have linked Everton with an £18m move for the Ivorian with Ronald Koeman interested in adding more depth to his backline, but some fans are unconvinced why they need Kone with fears his arrival will hinder the development of Mason Holgate who’s started the season in brilliant form.

Likewise, Sunderland fans will be gutted at losing Kone on top of Younes Kaboul to Watford, with the duo forming an integral partnership that saw The Black Cats to safety last season under Sam Allardyce.
Kone has been told to stay away from Sunderland until the end of the transfer window, but the saga is set to drag on until then.
Here’s how both sets of fans reacted on Twitter to the news Everton’s bid for Kone was rejected.
