Everton and Newcastle United should seriously consider swapping the two midfielders.

Morgan Schneiderlin before the Premier League match between Everton and Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park on September 1, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, faces an uncertain future on Merseyside, whilst Newcastle ace Jonjo Shelvey is in a similar situation at St James’ Park.

Both really are top players, in spite of underwhelming recent performances, and the two clubs should consider a swap deal.

Newcastle lack any kind of fight and tenacity in the middle of the park, and Schneiderlin would be just the ticket.

The Frenchman is a ball-winning midfielder by trade, and specialises in breaking up the opposition’s play.

At 29, Schneiderlin still has a lot to offer and he would be an excellent acquisition for the Magpies.

Shelvey, meanwhile, possesses all of the attributes that Everton seem to lack in midfield at the moment.

Jonjo Shelvey arrives for the Premier League Match between Newcastle United and Leicester City at St.James' Park on September 29, 2018, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

The 26-year-old is an excellent passer of the football, and he would be the ideal partner for Idrissa Gueye in the Toffees’ engine room.

Shelvey would certainly help Everton improve upon the fluidity of their play through the middle of the park, and he would be a useful addition to Marco Silva’s squad.

The two players are probably valued at a similar amount, and with both midfielders facing an uncertain future at their respective clubs, a swap deal would be the ideal solution for Everton and Newcastle.
