Everton and Newcastle United fans both urged their respective clubs to target Michy Batshuayi this summer.

Michy Batshuayi of Belgium celebrates after scoring during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group G match between Belgium and Tunisia at Spartak Stadium on June 23, 2018 in Moscow, Russia.

For both Everton and Newcastle, it would appear that signing a new marquee striker would be a huge boost during this window as they look to address concerns within their squads.

Both teams registered top-half finishes last season and the fans saw some impressive performances from those leading the line, but neither team should be entirely happy with their striker options as things are.

And it appears that there are sections of the Everton and Newcastle fans who would like Marco Silva and Rafa Benitez target Michy Batshuayi during this window judging by some of the assessments of his performance in Belgium’s 5-2 win over Tunisia on Saturday.

Batshuayi came on for the final 22 minutes in Moscow and endured an eventful cameo appearance, missing a host of chances before scoring Belgium’s fifth in the final moments with a neat finish as he slid in to get on the end of a delightful cross.

He may have struggled before scoring, but he still did enough to impress some of the Everton and Newcastle fans on social media. Batshuayi – who joined Chelsea for £33 million in 2016, as reported by the Guardian – has endured a difficult spell at Stamford Bridge, but showed what he could out on loan with Borussia Dortmund earlier this year.

The 24-year-old scored seven goals in 10 league games for the Bundesliga giants, and in the wake of his eighth goal for his country, the Everton and Newcastle fans have urged their respective managers to make a move before the window closes.
