Everton and Liverpool are just two of the clubs keeping a keen eye on Burnley defender Michael Keane ahead of the summer.

Michael Keane has responded to interest in his signature from the likes of Everton and Liverpool, and while he admitted that he is flattered by the reports, he insisted that he is solely focused on Burnley, the Daily Mail reports.

The Mail reports that the Merseyside pair are interested in signing the 24-year-old, as are Manchester City and Leicester following his incredibly impressive year with the Clarets.

Keane has been a stalwart of Sean Dyche’s side this season, and his form has been a key reason why Burnley go into the final nine games of the campaign with an excellent chance of securing a second successive year in the Premier League.

But while the top flight quartet are ready to make their move, Keane insisted that those final weeks of the campaign are all that he is concentrating on.

‘It’s flattering to see, but I’m focused on Burnley,’ he said, as reported by the Mail. ‘We’ve got nine games left in the season and we need to make sure we remain in the league.

‘But to see things like that can only mean you’re playing well.’

The Mail adds that the Toffees are the favourites for Keane’s signature at the moment, but it would not be a surprise if there are plenty of twists and turns before his future is decided.

Burnley have kept the second-best defensive record in the bottom half of the table – second only to Middlesbrough, whose season has been truly bizarre as they sit second bottom – and the Toffees need to add a younger centre-back to their ranks while Liverpool need to strengthen their entire defence after a season which has only threatened to be something special.

With Ronald Koeman and Jurgen Klopp both identifying Keane as a player that fits the bill for their respective clubs, it would not be a surprise to see an intense bidding war commence for the England international once the season concludes.
