Manchester City have beaten Liverpool to the Premier League title.

Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 this afternoon – but it wasn’t enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side to claim the Premier League title.
The Reds went into the game needing to win whilst hoping Manchester City slipped up at Brighton and Hove Albion, and Sadio Mane got Anfield rocking with the opener against Wolves.
Hopes were raised when Glenn Murray headed Brighton in front, but Sergio Aguero’s rapid response set the tone for a superb fightback from City.
Aymeric Laporte’s thumping header made it 2-1 to City, before Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan added gloss to the win, all whilst Mane grabbed another to give Liverpool a 2-0 win.
City did what they needed to do, meaning Liverpool finish second with a staggering 97 points, just one shy of City and three short of City’s 100-point record last season.
Liverpool have lost just one Premier League game this season yet still haven’t come out on top, and whilst the red half of Merseyside may be wondering what might have been, the blue half is having a laugh.

Everton’s official Twitter account sent a message earlier this evening congratulating City on winning the title, sparking joyous reactions from Toffees fans who praised such a bitter tweet mocking Liverpool, even mimicking Jamie Carragher’s famous ‘you little dancer’ commentary line.
Liverpool fans hit back, suggesting that Everton were showing what a small club they are, whilst pointing out they finished a full 43 points shy of Liverpool, reminding Everton fans to mind the gap to their rivals.
