Sheffield United’s exceptional start to life in the Championship has seen a number of players hit the headlines, but David Brooks is the one Blade who appears to be attracting the most interest.

Chris Wilder’s men lie in the top six after a superb start to the campaign, and young midfielder Brooks has been grabbing the headlines despite starting just three league games this term.

The 20-year-old playmaker has notched two assists this term, and has been turning heads with his skill and creativity, with Wilder often using him as an impact substitute.

Already, Brooks is a wanted man; The Sun report that both Everton and Liverpool are interested in signing the Championship ace, with Sheffield United determined to keep hold of him.

More clubs are bound to be tracking Brooks given the buzz around the youngster right now, and Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino should be keeping a close eye on his development.

Spurs are lacking another playmaker who can develop behind Christian Eriksen, and given his potential, trickery and balance on the ball, Brooks could be the ideal player for Pochettino to bring in an improve over the coming years.

Tottenham and Pochettino have already shown a willingness to play young players such as Kyle Walker-Peters, Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Harry Kane, meaning that they may well be the perfect club for young players to thrive with.

Spurs swooped to sign two Sheffield United talents back in Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker in 2009, meaning they could repeat the trick here, and the loaning of Cameron Carter-Vickers to the Bramall Lane club suggests a strong relationship between the two clubs right now.

Challenging Everton and Liverpool for his signature will be tough, but with chances given to young players under Pochettino, Spurs can sell themselves as the right club for the youngster.
