Reports claim the West Ham United boss is expected to bid for Mawson, but could Everton and Crystal Palace provide competition?

Everton and Crystal Palace are listed among the favourites to sign Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson, behind West Ham United.
West Ham are expected to bid around £20 million for Mawson in January, according to the Guardian.
But bookmakers Ladbrokes have Everton [4/1] and Palace [5/1] right behind the Hammers [6/4] in the running for his signature.
Mawson has impressed since his £5 million move from Barnsley in summer 2016, having barely played above the third tier before then.
And Everton were among those linked with a move for the Londoner earlier this year.

Everton could well be in the market for a centre-back in January, with Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams either in or approaching their mid-twenties, although Crystal Palace have a number of options in Mawson’s position.
Incidentally, the Toffees are interested in signing Palace’s former West Ham defender James Tomkins, according to the Sun, which could spark Eagles interest in the Swansea player.
Could Everton/Crystal Palace rival West Ham for Mawson’s signature in January?
