Everton winger Kevin Mirallas is part of the Belgium side which take on Greece this weekend, and knows their opponents better than most.

Mirallas played for Olympiakos between 2010 and 2012, before earning a move to Everton.

He struck 34 goals across two seasons in Greece, the most prolific spell of his career, two of just the three campaigns he has reached double figures, with the other coming with Everton in 2014/15 when he scored 11.

Speaking to Belgian publication Nieuwsblad, he admitted he would be open to heading back to his former surroundings, but not yet as he is content on Merseyside.

He said: “I have very good memories. I won everything. I know many people there. Players with whom I played and players against whom I played. That is very special.

“Certainly the president of Olympiacos I had an excellent relationship. My son was born in Greece. Perhaps will play ther again. That would be nice.”

“But I must be honest. My family and I now feel very well in England. We’ll have to see.”

Mirallas is 29-years-old and is under contract with the Toffees until 2018, meaning Everton could sell this summer if they want to cash in.

He has started 16 of a possible 29 games for Everton this season in the Premier League, with a further 10 appearances coming from the bench. He has scored four goals and provided four assists.

His versatility to play anywhere in attack makes him a useful player for Everton, but if they buy as ambitiously as they intend to this summer, it is also conceivable to see him being squeezed out, or his role reduced to a point where he decides he wants to move on.
