Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori has been sidelined since March 2017 with a knee injury.

Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori has sent a message to Toffees fans on Instagram after finally returning to fitness following a long-term knee injury that has kept him sidelined since March 2017.
The 26-year-old suffered a long-term knee injury while on international duty with Argentina, and it has since ruled the former River Plate defender out of action until now.

Funes Mori played the first half of Everton Under-23’s 4-0 defeat to Arsenal on Monday night, as he steps up his recovery with the aim of achieving a place in Sam Allardyce’s first team once again.
Funes Mori described his battle against injury as one that he has finally conquered, stating it “is a battle that I won with pride, love and heart.”
Funes Mori has plenty of competition if he wants to regain a spot in Allardyce’s side, with the likes of Phil Jagielka, Ashley Williams, Mason Holgate, Micheal Keane and Eliaquim Mangala all vying for a place in the Toffees side.
However, the left-footed defender will have the added incentive of returning to his best in order to impress national team manager Jorge Sampaoli ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
