Everton’s struggles this season go on, as Ronald Koeman’s men slumped to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

A miserable September saw Everton suffer heavy defeats against Tottenham, Atalanta and Manchester United, claiming just the one win – the 2-1 victory over Bournemouth – and ending with an underwhelming 2-2 Europa League draw against Apollon Limassol.

Ronald Koeman desperately needed a strong start to October, but he got much of the same as his Toffees side lost 1-0 to Sean Dyche’s Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

A well-worked first half move from Burnley unlocked the Everton defence, with Jeff Hendrick showing great composure to slot the ball home from Stephen Ward’s pull back.

That proved to be the winner, as Everton failed to find an equaliser in what was another tepid attacking performance from Koeman’s side.

The Dutchman is under huge pressure to turn things around at Goodison Park, with fans and players completely downbeat after just two Premier League wins in the first seven games.

After the final whistle, one photo of Leighton Baines (top) summed up the feeling at Goodison Park, crumbling to the ground to bury his head in the turf after another loss.

The likes of Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Idrissa Gueye also cut disconsolate figures at the full time whistle, with Everton reeling after a second home defeat of the season.
