Darren Bent has been speaking to talkSPORT about Harry Kane’s form, and he’s made an interesting claim about the Tottenham talisman.

What’s the story?

Well, Bent believes Kane hasn’t been the same player ever since he spoke to Gary Neville about his future back in May.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent said: “I don’t think he’s been at his best ever since he gave that interview to Gary Neville. I think even at the EURO’s he struggled. He hasn’t looked anywhere near himself.”

While playing a round of golf with the Sky Sports pundit, Kane let everything out about his desire to leave Spurs on The Overlap.

The 28-year-old even spoke about what it would be like to play with Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City, and put a price tag on himself.

It really was an interview which said to Daniel Levy: ‘I’m going, and there’s nothing you can do about it.’

Sadly for Kane, Levy won the battle, and the England international has already delivered a handful of poor displays under Nuno Espirito Santo.

How is Harry Kane playing for Tottenham?

Whether it really was because of his chat with Neville, or the transfer saga in general, something has definitely affected Kane’s form.

Tottenham’s No.10 has only scored two goals in six games this season, with none of those coming in the Premier League.

Kane scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Paços Ferreira to help Spurs qualify for the UEFA Conference League, and is yet to score again this season.

It’s very worrying for the north Londoners, and in truth, it does seem as if he’s not 100% focused on playing for Tottenham.

His disappointment at not getting his move away may have been eased by the fact Tottenham won their first three Premier League games this term.

However, back-to-back 3-0 defeats to Crystal Palace and Chelsea have really damaged the mood around N17, and all eyes are now on Kane.

Can Tottenham’s talisman turn things around? Only time will tell.
