Clinton Morrison has said on Sky Sports News (12:22pm, August 6, 2022) that Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will eventually be able to sign James Maddison from Premier League rivals Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The former Crystal Palace forward believes that if Newcastle want to sign Maddison, then they will eventually secure the services of the 25-year-old English attacking midfielder.

Newcastle have had bids for Maddison turned down, according to The Telegraph.

90min have reported that former Premier League champions Leicester want as much as £60 million from Newcastle for Maddison.

Newcastle backed to sign James Maddison from Leicester

Morrison said about Maddison on Sky Sports News (12:22pm, August 6, 2022): “Newcastle, they want Maddison, and they are coming with a second and a third bid.

“Eventually they will get Maddison. If Newcastle want Maddison, they will go and get Maddison.”

Could a transfer happen this summer?

In our view, Newcastle United could be able to sign James Maddison from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

Now, the Foxes may want £60 million, but we all know that clubs negotiate over transfer fees until the last minute.

Newcastle are a club on the up who have grand plans for the future, and Maddison could be tempted to join a team who could be challenging for the European places in the Premier League table in the coming years.

Maddison is a very good attacking midfielder who would make Newcastle better and more creative.
